I don't want to lose Mapsource if Basecamp is as slow as people say it is. Quote Link to comment
+g-o-cashers
I do and they both seem to work fine. Quote Link to comment
dwm1974
Does anybody have a copy to review yet? How is it compared to the old topo canada? Updates, details, any input would be appreciated. Worth the price if you already have the old one? Thanks Dean Quote Link to comment
+Red90
It is not out yet. GPSCity says they have been told six weeks. Currently Ibycus Topo is much better and free. I doubt this new version will be better than Ibycus. The main reason to get it is for the DEM data. The DEM data is only usable on some newer units like the Oregon and Colorado. Like USA topo, you should be able to use the DEM shading and 3D views with other maps on the unit. Edited April 5, 2009 by Red90 Quote Link to comment
+Tequila
Does anyone know if this mapset requires an unlock code or does it work on more than one GPS? Quote Link to comment
+MaliBooBoo
From the GPScity.ca site referring to the new TOPO Canada DVD: TOPO Canada is not locked, so you'll receive full access to all coverage areas. These maps sound interesting. Hopefully they've done a significant amount of updating! Quote Link to comment
+Tequila
I would like them for the DEM data. And it is my understanding that I can get the elevation shading underneath my existing 1:10,000 topos. But I think I will let someone else pioneer this trail. The last time I was out front with a Garmin product, it felt like going down the Colorado river without a canoe, paddle or life jacket. +Maingray
The last time I was out front with a Garmin product, Exactly, everyone else was behind you loading maps still or changing batteries. Anyhows, good to see some Canada Topo love...with DEM.. and unlocked! woohooh Quote Link to comment
+Red90
I will get one the day they arrive and post up comparison pictures in Mapsource and screenshots from Basecamp and a Colorado. Quote Link to comment

anethema
Does anyone know if a Nuvi 550 will display the DEM data from this? I just ordered a 550 one from GPScity. From looking at reviews, the 500 seems to draw the DEM shading, but just want to be sure before I shell out for the new topo canada. Edited May 25, 2009 by anethema Quote Link to comment

I find this usefull when geocaching with my oregon 300 . I'm heading to the US for summer vacation and did not want to purchase topo usa juste for 2 weeks. Thanks Quote Link to comment
+Red90
No, the Ibycus maps are not routable. Quote Link to comment
