CodeMoney
Garmin has units that are "geocaching-friendly". Does that mean all other units are hostile? Edited September 19, 2008 by CodeMoney Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
Garmin has units that are "getocaching-friendly". Does that mean all other units are hostile? Mostly it means that Those Garmins have geocaching specific firmware that may or may not be helpful depending on how you go about caching. Quote Link to comment
+BuxCamper
I have a very old Garmin which took me to number of caches without a problem. Their newer 'friendly' units include icons for unfound and found caches and longer note fields. Overall I take geocaching-friendly to mean efforts have been made to support the hobby. +StarBrand
It is a mode on some Garmis that allows you to mark a cache as found and locate the next nearest one in one step. The calendar remembers that list of found caches for you. Quote Link to comment
+Wild Thing 73
Yes....Garmin is a "friendly" unit for Geocaching, none better in my opinion. I never leave home with out one or two...I have one for searching and one with my "placed caches", so that I don't have "guideline" problems on the distance "thingy"...Happy trails Quote Link to comment
+Buggheart
So I guess I'm the only one who read that as "ghetto" caching, huh? Quote Link to comment
+trainlove
So I guess I'm the only one who read that as "ghetto" caching, huh? No, but I wasn't going to comment on how unfriendly I think ghetto's are. Quote Link to comment

I was just teasing because I have no advice to offer about what makes a GPS geo caching friendly. Welcome to the site! Quote Link to comment
