ssgeo83
Has anyone ordered from aetoys.com? I was going to order a nano cache from them for $1.49. Their site is listed on geocaching.com's shopping page under alternate shipping. Are they a reliable/safe website? Also are they other places to order a nano for about the same price? I've never ordered from them but checked out the item. I kind of like the O ring on it. Most Nanos are painted LED body jewlery. The top is actually plastic molded over a LED board. The battery is removed and you have the nano. Many dollar stores sell the LED Jewlery, you should check them out. Also, I've seen them on e-bay for a buy now of $9.99 with free shipping for a 10 pack. Quote Link to comment

+Vinny & Sue Team
Welcome to the forums! Regardless of whether it may be safe or not safe to order from the vendor which you have named, since this is an online forum, at least 45 of us will, over the next 21 days, send at least one post apiece to this thread, ostensibly in response to your question, and you will never get a straight "yes" or "no" answer, for that is the way things go in the forums when all is well with the world and when everything is in its appointed place. Do please have lots of fun while you are visiting here! Quote Link to comment

I order from them all the time. They're really good and quick on getting the order out the door. I just ordered the 10pk of nano cache containers - with free shipping - and go it within 4 days. This is a higher security and encription scheme and although not bulletproof it's a BIG step up over a site that doesn't use a secured connection. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Https Also are they other places to order a nano for about the same price?I've had good luck searching on Ebay, you can get a good selection there and transactions are probably as secure as they come. Several times in fact. In most cases they are very responsive but I've been waiting forever to get a Dragonfly coin.. Pre-order though... They still haven't received them from the manufacturer. +BadAndy
AEtoys is a reliable and safe outlet for geocaching items. I know these folks personally and would trust them in any situation. Quote Link to comment

Do please have lots of fun while you are visiting here! Vinny, When are you going to move to Northern CA so us Left Coasters can have fun with your hides? Hi Zop.... Well, thanks for your kind words, and my answer to your question is in two parts, as follows: First, regardless of which state/region it is in which they are placed (I currently own Psycho caches in three states, and at one time, they were in four states), I cannot emplace my Psycho Caches at will or on whim, and rather, I truly believe that all of the tougher ones were due entirely to divine inspiration, that is guidance from what I call Holy Spirit. So, I cannot place Psycho caches on demand, much as I would like to, and rather, the placements are dependent entirely upon guidance from Holy Spirit. Further, many of my Psycho cache placements, even after I was guided to the hide site by Holy Spirit (some would say by Daffy Duck), took literally hundreds of hours of research, field work and reconnaissance before they ever saw the light of day, and two of my potential extreme (ahem... very extreme) Psycho placements, even after hundreds of hours of work, have still never been submitted for publication, for far more work remains to be done. Next, much as I love California, particularly Santa Monica and Venice in the LA area and also north central California (the Santa Cruz mountain towns), Governor Schwarznegger (or however you spell his name) has declared me persona non grata (or was it potatoes au gratin?) in California, and thus, while I am allowed to visit California, I am not allowed to stay for more than ten days at a time, largely because of my purported foul odor (some call it a stench) and my rather horrid reputation. sigh...! All4Kix
Thought I would try tacking on to this post instead of starting a new thread. I have 4 coins that I purchased from AETOYS last year, and have been out of pocket from Geocaching with an injury. Decided to activate these coins today, but lo and behold no AETOYS online that I can find to get an activation code. Does anyone have any ideas or are these coins "dead" as far as tracking goes? Thanks for any insight! All4Kix Quote Link to comment

Thanks for any insight! All4Kix First off, be thankful that you actually received your order. AEToys has taken a lot of people's money and never delivered their products. I am one of the many who is out a significant amount of money. As far as I know, they are no longer a Groundspeak-approved vendor. You might try sending Eartha (moderator in the coin/TB section of this board) an email or PM. I think Groundspeak is attempting to put together a master activating code list to prevent this type of thing (vendors suddenly disappearing leaving customers stuck with no ability to retrieve codes) from happening again. I don't know how far into the process this is or whether AEToys codes will be available. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
