I think not only do different people play the game differently for different reasons, but I think different states / parts of the country play it differently also.

 

Do some traveling and you'll see it all. Just play for yourself and have fun.

The OP has a valid point. As I have read through this thread, I've started to wonder abt the Platinum members... they are getting mad at the regular cachers who dont spend as much money on geocaching like they do kinda like a snobby rich b*%"$ would get mad at a disgruntled maid.

 

FTFs are exciting, they give people happiness, but when you get a cache just 10 minutes after it is posted and expect to get that FTF, but see that some one logged it yesterday, it isnt very encouraging.

 

So maybe it isnt a big deal to those who pay and get special priveledges, but to us little people, its a pain in the a** and gets on out nerves.
