+GrateBear Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Received notification today that my Jeep TB had been retrieved from Smoke & Mirrors. Here is the link for the TB http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.as...46-fd7d008e64f4 . When I click on Smoke & Mirrors, I get a message that I can't view it until it has been published. The tracking for the TB shows it was placed in that cache back in Sept '07, but I don't recall receiving notification of that. I checked to make sure I was logged on, I am a premium member, so don't understand what the error message is all about. Could someone please follow the link and let me know if they can get to the cache? Thanks. Quote
+Too Tall John Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Someone placed the Jeep in an archived (or at least unreviewed) cache so it wouldn't show up in their inventory. I've heard of Jeep hoarders who'll do this so it looks good on their profile, that they aren't holding a bunch of Jeeps. Quote
Mag Magician Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 I just checked on the Jeep's progress, and it is logged into GC19PKR. Quote
Mag Magician Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 On second thought, one of the newbys that attended posted a log today that he/she picked up a Jeep that doesn't show on their profile. star_catcher Quote
+CSpenceFLY Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 It looks like creacher has had your bug for 6 months. I would contact someone that says they are going to that meet and great and ask them to get your bug for you. Quote
Mag Magician Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Spring1 discovered your bug today at the meet and greet. It seems that the bug is safe and moving as of today. Quote
Keystone Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 "Smoke and Mirrors" is an unpublished cache used by the owner to warehouse trackables. At present, there are four Jeep travel bugs in the cache's inventory. They don't belong to the OP, they don't belong to the cache owner. They belong to Jeep. It would be nice to see them move. Speaking of moving, I am moving this topic over to the Travel Bug forum. Quote
square_peg Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 I've heard of Jeep hoarders who'll do this so it looks good on their profile, that they aren't holding a bunch of Jeeps. Hoarders should have their accounts frozen to all activity except dropping the bugs they've hoarded. Quote
+joranda Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Looks like the Jeep was just at a event being seen by all. Quote
