+GrateBear
Just wondering if anyone took advantage of the 2008 City Navigator Map Update at Best Buy. $50 after "savings". Seems like a good deal. Or, am I missing something here? Never saw a discount for maps before. Quote Link to comment

Maybe the deal is prompted by the impending announcement of V.2009 maps ??? It seems the new version are at least announced in April or May. Tim Quote Link to comment
+Dryphter
Ugh. I just got CN NT 2008 installed. If there is a 2009 I think I'll skip it. Quote Link to comment
+stfoulks
Last time I was on the Garmin website, it showed this update available for my NUVI and I was able to request it for free from Garmin. Not sure if that was because of the timing of my purchase (within the last year) or not, but I'd check there before I bought it! Quote Link to comment
+qlenfg
$50 is the Amazon price as well -- with free shipping. Why is it cheap? Simple -- its an *update* for an earlier release. As far as I can tell, its not the full version. Quote Link to comment

The 2008 CNNA NT update came out July 12, 2007. I don't think they announce them that far ahead of the release date. Quote Link to comment
QuigleyJones
I you dont already have a old version unlocked, Dont buy it, As garmin will not give you an unlock code. Quote Link to comment

I can't remember exactly.... but I think that the "Regular" version of 2008 came out a month or so before the "NT" version of 2008. I don't know why.... but that's sort of what I recall from last year. Or maybe it "realeased" but it was not "available". I wonder if it will be the same this year ? Tim Quote Link to comment
QuigleyJones
Imposible to say as Europe v2008 NT has been released and non-NT is still unavailable. Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
in the past, new versions were usually announced sometime in June and started arriving in people's homes mid to late July. I imagine this year will be no different. Edited March 5, 2008 by Neo_Geo Quote Link to comment
