+Zolgar
So, tons of people go caching with their younger children. It's great, gets the kids out of the house, off the couch. I'm wondering though, how many cache with their teenagers, or even adult children? (.. Oxymoron there.) And, who got who started caching? Sometimes I (23) go caching with my parents (RedSky Aussies), I got them hooked on it, too. Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
I go caching with my parents when I vist them or they visit me but they never go out by themselves. Dad turned 72 last weekend and I am 41. In this case it is definitely the technology learning curve. I know at least 1 local family with 2 teenagers that caches frequently together. +TheVaultrons
We took Mr. Vaultron's parents caching once. (We belong in the oxymoronic category.) Quote Link to comment
je4wdep's wife
We have no teen children but I have cached with my young adult son. When my stepdaughter comes up we plan on taking her caching with our grandson. Quote Link to comment
crawil
I frequently take my 13-year-old son along with me - he's got better eyesight anyway so he helps a lot. I've also cached with my mom (65) a handful of times and she really enjoys finding hidden "treasures", especially while on vacation. Quote Link to comment
+WRASTRO
Elroy is 18 and George is somewhat older. We get out together at least a couple of times per month and have a great time! Quote Link to comment
+loande
My son(now 17) started caching with outdoor adventure group a couple of years ago. He then really wanted a GPSr--he saved some money and with a gift certificate to EMS was able to get a yellow etrex. Then he got me hooked. We cache together often and attend local events, too. He and a friend formed team and they have about 4 hides also. Quote Link to comment
+mdplayers
Our 13 (almost 14) year old comes with us. For him it's all about the GZ search. He doesn't really care to work with the GPSr on the way in. Quote Link to comment
+SanityEndsHere
My grandfather is the one who got me into this wonderful hobby. And from there my dad has joined in except for he doesn't log any of his finds since he hates computers. I got my teenage nephews into caching and they just got their very own GPS. So around our family it's a family event to all go caching with one another. Quote Link to comment
+doingitoldschool
My 13 year old son (now 14) got us into the hobby! Him and I like to chase the late night FTF's (2 so far). Quote Link to comment
+Dragonfire870
Me (19) and my mom go out caching together, and have been since we started. She's not technologically inclined so I usually do all of that. She also really likes bushwhacking, more than me, which is strange... Quote Link to comment
+Buildingblocks
We cache as a family, and the oldest is 16yo. My 75yo dad wants to start going with us on easy ones once the weather warms- his new hip needs a workout! Quote Link to comment
+GSVNoFixedAbode
My 14 & 18yr old "children" sometime still come with me - though normally only if the caches are a good size. I got them hooked on the unusual/strange treasures that could be found 3-4 years ago and they still get a kick out of finding odd things for trading. However, after dragging my 75 yr old Mother through some rather steep and bush-clad gullies, as well as a few thorny hunts she tends to decline the offers these days Quote Link to comment
