+jipow
Had to disable my only catche. I had it hid in a hollow tree at Church, got a call from the Preacher's son telling me that I had to find a new hiding place, the tree fell due to high winds. Quote Link to comment

+StarBrand
Yikes!! Winter winds can be brutal to trees. I have lost 2 in the same manner over the years - i now avoid trees as well. Especially ones that are partly rotted and hollowed. Quote Link to comment

+Hobo2
Your not the only one with tree trouble. I just published this cache, GC173WK. This tree was a land mark for years and years, but wouldn't you know, as soon as my cache was published it fell over. I'm rethinking trees as well. Quote Link to comment

Especially ones that are partly rotted and hollowed. That's the problem with trees. The ones that offer the best hiding places are often diseased and the most likely to come down. I use them if there is no alternative, but try to look for some place better. Quote Link to comment
