+ventura_kids Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Am I the only one getting the map server error for over a day now? I've tried three different computers, but it won't work. I'm clicking on a cache page, then clicking the geocaching.com map link

+welch Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 I've gotten that same message everytime I try clicking the 'geocaching.com maps' link today. The page changes likes going to work, then all the comes up is "There was an error with the map server"
+dobleve Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 I've got the same issue "map server error" How do we get groudspeak's attention?
+welch Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I'm still getting the error this morning. Is this problem only affecting 4 people??
+trainlove Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 The problem for only seems to happen with 'Other Conversions' right next to a coordinate. A cache page shows it's 2 maps correctly right now and I can even click on them.

A cache page shows it's 2 maps correctly right now and I can even click on them. I don't think we're talking about the same thing. The maps that display on the cache page seem ok (to me). What IS NOT working is the the link for 'geocaching.com maps', the first link in the lists of "online maps".
+StarBrand Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 If it makes you feel better - I too am getting the error - I just hardly ever look at those maps.....
+Miragee Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 If it makes you feel better - I too am getting the error - I just hardly ever look at those maps..... Ditto!
+mtn-man Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Yeah, I've noticed it too. I use the Geocaching.com Google Map option mostly now since it also shows caches and your finds and you can scroll around and zoom in and out faster.
+shorbird Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I have been getting this "error with the map server for 4 days now. Does anyone know where to report this?
+trainlove Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Ah yes I see what you mean. But you can use any other of those maps. Although you will get an error that's been happening at least a month now which is easy to ignore by clicking the very convient Close link that the error provides. Log - Clear - Close 15:28:47:093Image Found Error: 1 15:28:47:093Image Found Error: [object Error] 15:28:47:109Image Found Error: 2 15:28:47:109Image Found Error: [object Error]
+PAWSitraction Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Same problem with the Travel Bug maps. Map server error.

However AFAIK the geocaching.com maps are the only ones that you can use to show the location of multiple caches with archived ones shown. This makes it very useful as a quick way to find the archived caches in a given area. Otherwise yea 'any of those other maps' can we used for the usual stuff .
