Mushtang Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I started a topic in the forum....got my answers and now want to close it. How do you do that? You can't close it yourself, but if you request that it be closed then a Mod will do it. Either send one a PM, hit the Report button at the bottom of the thread, or just post a request in the thread for it to be closed.
Mushtang Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Lets try it out here in this thread. "Please close this thread". <---- does nothing since I'm not the Original Poster (OP). You type it in a post and see if it works.
Keystone Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Or why not just let the thread slip off the page quietly?
+TotemLake Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Or why not just let the thread slip off the page quietly? Why not bring back the feature? The removal was punitive over some dolts re-enabling the thread to respond one more time. Surely we've learned our lesson?

People learning their lesson? Riiiiiiiiiight..as soon as they can, they'll abuse the feature again.

Yah but the yahoos that caused the problem aren't posting anymore or they've learned to be more civil. I'm guessing there's probably an option that can be checked once closed always closed. It can't hurt to try and help reduce the moderator load a bit. Edited June 13, 2007 by TotemLake
+Stunod Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 There is a never ending supply of yahoos. At least there are where I work.
+Knight2000 Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 I agree. There've been times I wanted to close a thread myself. Just wait a bit and someone will say something to get it closed.
