You don't load it onto a GPSr. You use it to manage the map 'tiles' from City Navigator or one of the others Garmin products and download those to your GPSr. Never used the POI loader so can't help there, sorry. +Moote Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 (edited) Just upgraded to vista and have tried to load on mapsource and POI loader and have failed on both accounts. If anyone has managed to install these on vista could you let me know how you managed it please? I have MapSource working on Vista, I had no issues, not tried POI Loader, but can do in the morning. But here are some tips I have found Don't install into Program Files directory, as it is too much controlled by the OS, instead create a directory called Programs off the root of C: and install all proggies in there. When first running a program right click the Icon and select run as Administrator In the Icons Properties under Compatibility, select the option to run the program in XP SP2 mode Edited June 8, 2007 by Moote Quote
Edgemaster Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 Just upgraded to vista MapSource is a PC program. You don't load it onto a GPSr.In this case, the vista being referred to is Microsoft's new Windows Operating System, released a few months ago. Microsoft like stealing good names don't they? Quote
+PopUpPirate Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 No problems with POI Loader on Vista here - used the latest version d/loaded from the site though, rather than the disk version. Quote
+Bear and Ragged Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 As per what Moote said. Had problems with GSAK on Vista... Had installed it in the "programs" folder. Reinstalled it on to the C drive and no further problems. (Other than trying to get my head around all the GSAK settings! ) -Run Macs, you install Applications into the Applications folder... OK Microsoft call them "Programs", but you don't install Programs into the Programs folder??? G Quote

I have vister now, It has taken quite a while to get it as I need it, first thing I didden't know, you need a decent graphics card to take the screen memory away from the PC computing memory so the thing runs correctly al least 520K + Quote
