+BBWolf+3Pigs
Great idea, but I give it two caches before it goes missing. Keep it as a back up. Quote Link to comment
Clan Riffster
I agree. Keep it as a backup, or give it to a friend. Unless it croaks, then you can make one of these: Just Another Dead GPSr The picture doesn't show it very well, but the TB tag is under the glass. Quote Link to comment
bogleman
Leave it as a FTF find gift in hopes that a n00b finds it first (or the FTF leaves it) Quote Link to comment
CoyoteRed
Keep it as a back up. This is actually a great idea. Put a pair of lithiums in it, put it in a case, and drop it in the bottom of your pack. Backup for on those remote caching trips and your primary unit gives up the ghost. You can also lend it out to new cachers. Friends can use it when you're showing them your hobby. +Rekottop
I like the idea of a FTF gift but I would put it in a members only cache. But if I had an extra one I would give it to a friend who I wanted to get into GeoCaching with. Help them get started and all. Edited May 27, 2007 by Rekottop Quote Link to comment
CoyoteRed
I like the idea of a FTF gift but I would put it in a members only cache. If they could hunt a MOC, then they probably already have a better unit. If I were to use one as a FTF gift I'd not mention what it is or even that there is one. Quote Link to comment

+Westerner
I'd suggest giving it to a local boy scout troop with information about geocaching. Maybe even ask that they do a hide with it. Quote Link to comment
Neos2
Or donate it to a local high school school. Science classes are notoriously underfunded. Quote Link to comment
+Golden Eagle VB
As a teacher I would always welcome a previously enjoyed GPS to use with my students, not that I am campaining or anything. Most, if not all FTFers already have a GPS. Quote Link to comment

+briansnat
Every once in a while a student or someone of limited means posts here that they are interested in the sport but can't afford a GPS unit. Hang onto it and when you see one of those posts, send it to him. Quote Link to comment
+genegene
member only caches, if you want to put it out there. and im not a member yet and im sugesting this Quote Link to comment
+Rockin Roddy
Ask your local park system manager if they'd like to use it as a loaner (or rental) for future visitors. I'm working to set up a similar program with our local State Parks system. Parks can loan or rent the unit out to visitors who can then decide for themselves if they'd like to buy a unit and cache! +C&C+COMPANY
I'd say give it to a geocacher with limited means if you want to get rid of it. Quote Link to comment
+Sixpack-o-Stephens
I'd say give it to a geocacher with limited means if you want to get rid of it. I'll even volunteer as the needy geocacher. With my four sons and one GPSr to go around, I have been looking for an extra unit that I could pick up **very** inexpensively. (poor me mode off) Quote Link to comment
