waterproof paper?

I've seen a few caches that call for the log to be signed in pen as the log is "waterproof paper."

 

What is it and where do you get it?

Some office supply stores sell off-brand paper billed as waterproof. I have used some of it and it works well but does require a pen as pencil markings are quite light.

 

I really perfer the rite-in-the-rain stuff.

I do remember seeing somewhere of someone using Tyvek from a mailer. Just an thought.

Various flavors are available. I bought National Geographic Waterproof paper a while ago and have made various uses of it.

I've considered using waterproof paper for logs and in some situations it might not be a bad idea. Problem is though, if your cache gets wet, and your log gets wet, you have a maintenance issue whether your paper is waterproof or not.

I use National Geographic Advedture Paper. Good stuff. It's not really paper, but more a plastic.

I've considered using waterproof paper for logs and in some situations it might not be a bad idea. Problem is though, if your cache gets wet, and your log gets wet, you have a maintenance issue whether your paper is waterproof or not.

Some "unique" caches such as behind a sheet magnet are expected to get wet.

I was recently told that there is a specialist florists paper that can be bought very cheaply (or even free) which works well. Can't remember the name of it though.
