Strapped-4-Cache
Just saw this posting on eBay this morning: eBay Treasure Hunt No current bids yet, not surprisingly. As stated in the listing, the auction is just for the first part of the map. The "treasure and the adventure you find" is the seller's gift to you. Of course, the seller never actually says what the "treasure" is, just that it's worth it's weight in gold. For all I know it's a nano cache with a grain of gold dust in it. Sounds intriguing, but warning bells are going off. Caveat Emptor. S-4-C Quote Link to comment
sbell111
I bet the map leads you to a great view, and nothing else. Quote Link to comment

ADKcachers
What is "worth it's wait in gold" supposed to mean? That's a huge red flag. Quote Link to comment

conradv
Caution/Warning: The Genie in this ring could be willed to perform both good and evil doings. The ones you love the most could fall prey to the rings power if you mis-use this relic of the ancient world...please just becareful of what you wish for. You have been warned. I will not be held accountable for what happens after this ring leaves my hands. I hope and pray that this item is used for good as that i what i used it for. Whew! Good thing he had that warning! I'm sure I would have used it for evil. Quote Link to comment
Big Max
His Magic Genie lamp is getting a workout. Looks like he has made several hundred dollars off of it in the last month. Some people have bought multiple wishes. So, would it be appropriate to use the magic ring to do FTFs and to show you where those 5/5 are hidden? "Oh Magic Genie of the ring, take me to Gokyo Ri and show me the cache so I may sign the log!" Or if you like numbers "Oh Magic Genie of the ring, sign my name to all caches in the world and log them into GC.com!" Edited August 16, 2006 by Big Max Quote Link to comment

TheAlabamaRambler
I wouldn't call preying on the stupidity or desperation of other people "smart", but that's just me..... Smart and ethical are different things. I used to repossess cars in California. While in the Navy I used off-duty time to buy a wrecker and hire out to local car dealers to find and return cars when the buyer couldn't / wouldn't pay. Many of these dealers were legitimate, nice guys that expected the buyer to honor his commitment to pay. Many of these dealers knew before the sale was written up that the buyer couldn't make the payments over time, their lives were just too unstable. I've seen them buy a car at auction for $500., sell it for $3500. to some poor schmuck who had run out of options and had to do business with the no-credit bad-credit astonishing-interest-rate $99 down and $99 a week forever predators. I've seen them repo and resell the same car four or five times... and everyone that lost the car to repo STILL had to pay for it. A beat-up old Chevrolet can be a gold mine to these guys. Ethical? No. Smart? Well, they own yachts, I don't. Looks pretty smart to me. Quote Link to comment
