+tiddles
This morning while checking out an area to place a cache, I found a spot, just the job I thought, only to find a cache already there? There was no entry in the log & the cache has obviously been there for some time, it hasn't been posted on the Geocache website otherwise I would've had it ages ago, anyone any clues or ideas. +*mouse*
Odd one..... have you tried looking at other sites such as Navicache.com to see if it is registered there? Quote Link to comment
+Haggis Hunter
It could be a letterbox? This isn't the first time that this sort of thing has happened! Quote Link to comment
+Simply Paul
I found a cache, set my a cacher I know, which hasn't been listed on the site yet, weeks ago. Perhaps a permissions hold-up? Quote Link to comment
+Pharisee
Maybe it's part of or possibly the final cache in a Multi. The posted co-ordinates for the cache may be miles away. If it is a multi and was placed recently, our reviewers will have asked for the final co-ordinates before publishing it. Drop them a line with the co-ords and see what turns up. +Learned Gerbil
It is not unknown for permission to be refused but for the cache not to remove the cache. Quote Link to comment

Tiddles Has been in touch with me and received a reply. From information supplied it's not a Navicache geocache, and it's not a letterbox. Quote Link to comment

+KiwiGary
Another good reason to always write the cache name and GC number on your caches. Did it have a log book and had anyone signed it, you might be able to track it from the log entries? See ya...Gary Quote Link to comment
+Simply Paul
dadgum AOL caching my cache pages. Bah! Thanks Lester. Quote Link to comment
+Kelsborrow Wayfinders
It could be a SOTA cache (Summits on the Air - I think). These are on the top of hills and often appear as caches several months after they were hidden). Quote Link to comment
