sandit
My husband and I were introduced to geocaching last weekend while visiting our grandchildren in another state. We went on several "hunts" with them and loved it. Now that we've returned home I'd like to be able to watch their progress online. Do you know of a way to log on and see what they've been up to in the world of geocaching? I know they report online each time they find one but I don't know how to search for their info. Any suggestions? Sandi Quote Link to comment
+IV_Warrior
You can't "watch" another user directly, like you can watch a cache. The easiest thing would be to bookmark their profile page, and watch it for changes. Of course, this will only help when they find new caches, you won't see their DNFs or notes this way. I know there have been multiple requests for it. If I recally correctly, TPTB have stated it's not a high priority and if it happens, you won't be able to just watch someone. It'll be a buddy type thing where the person you want to watch has to approve of it, or something like that. Quote Link to comment

I can see where a lot of the community and social aspect of this game could be greatly enhanced from this starting point. Quote Link to comment
+Team RedHawk
If I want to see what a particular user has done, I do the following. 1. go to my account. 2. click on 'find another player' 3. enter player name 4. Click on view profile 5. click on geocaches tab of user profile. 6. click list all cache finds. This returns a list of all caches the user has found with the latest on top. This is what I do to follow my son and grandsons caching in California. This may only work if you are a premium member. I don't know as I have been a premium member since the day after I started geocaching 3 1/2 years ago. Hawk Team RedHawk Quote Link to comment

And, after you have done that, "Bookmark" the Profile of that person. If you are using a tabbed browser, such as Opera, or Firefox, or apparently the new IE, you can even leave that tab (page) open and available all the time. Quote Link to comment
