+team moxiepup
Interesting statistics. Is #3, Portland US, The East coast or West Coast Portland? Quote Link to comment
+JakeBond
Thats pretty awesome. ive never seen google trends before. what i though was very interesting is how popular geocaching is in Hungry! who knew? any hungarians out there reading this? Quote Link to comment
+Cardinal Red
I would not have even guessed Hungary in the top 10. Interesting. But the absence of the UK is hard to believe. Are they using Ask Jeeves (or Google UK is not included in your counts). Quote Link to comment
+JakeBond
i suppose that just becasue hungarians googled gcing alot, it doesnt mean there are more of them interested in gcing, or does it? Quote Link to comment
+One of the Texas Vikings
I assume, this is from Google Searches. If that is the case, then I think we are mis-reading it. If you are searching on Google for Caches, then you are looking in the wrong place. You should be searching on GC.com. So I would think that a Google search for Caches or geocaching, would show interest in the sport/game, but not necessarily how many people participate or how many caches there are. Just interested people in that area. Quote Link to comment

+Mr Nibbler
I would not have even guessed Hungary in the top 10. Interesting. But the absence of the UK is hard to believe. Are they using Ask Jeeves (or Google UK is not included in your counts). Given that the UK forum is the busiest of the regionals I am, as we say over here, gobsmacked. Quote Link to comment
k_statealan
It basically means its most googled in hungary. People who do it here or in the UK don't ever google it as they go straight to this site. Quote Link to comment
CacheNCarryMA
I'm going start all-out googling "geocaching" just to get my state's numbers up. Massachusetts, represent! Quote Link to comment
fishiam
My wife is Hungarian and she was the one who first found out about geocaching - on a trip back to Hungary - and told me about it. WHY it is so popular in Hungary she doesn't know but she does confirm that it IS. Have a look at the geocaching.hu web site and you'll see that it is rather well done for being a non-GC website. cheers fish Quote Link to comment
+Brenin Tegeingl
This might explain why the UK does not appear in the top 10. geocacheUK provides interactive maps and stats. It's a gold mine for cachers in the UK Dave Quote Link to comment
