+icefall5 Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 If Jeremy founded the geocaching website (and I'm assuming the forums along with that), why isn't he an admin on the forums? Just kind of a random question.

Keystone Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 If you follow the link at the bottom of the forum home page to see The Moderating Team, you'll notice that Jeremy is one of five Global Forum Moderators, with the ability to moderate posts in any of the many forums. He is also a listed moderator here in the GC.com forum where he hangs out most often.
+Allen_L Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 You also have to watch out for that guy iryshe, he sometimes takes over for Jeremy.
+Jeremy Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I just locked your thread. Does that answer your question?
+icefall5 Posted April 17, 2006 Author Posted April 17, 2006 Jeremy, please don't kill me for doing this, but I reopened this. It doesn't answer my question. I knew you were a global mod but why aren't you an admin?
+Jeremy Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I'm confoozleated. Me too. I don't understand why you would need to know. So I'm not answering.
+wizard1974uk Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 (edited) How about, you don't necessarily have to be an admin to run the forum? Edited April 17, 2006 by wizard1974uk
+Recdiver Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Unless you are really hung up on "Titles" why does it matter? Jeremy could be tagged as the Head Bottle Washer and he'd still have the same awesome powers he has now.
+Allen_L Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I'm confoozleated. Me too. I don't understand why you would need to know. So I'm not answering. Plus my previous message actually provided the answer.

+BadAndy Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 When you only have 1 key on your keychain, but can open any door in the building, you're either the janitor...or the head cheese. Janitors have a namebadge thats says "Janitor"...the Head cheese doesn't even need the namebadge.
Keystone Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Janitors have a namebadge thats says "Janitor" Thanks for noticing my promotion! I am very excited about this opportunity. I report for duty at Groundspeak later this week.
+Airmapper Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Maybe Hydee slapped Jeremy and took his admin bricks. (Or at least thats a good theory if you read that article in Today's Cacher.)
+Jeremy Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I like that one. But I guess you could say it is for the same reason you don't run all your applications as root.
+Woodbutcher68 Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 (edited) I'm confoozleated. Me too. I don't understand why you would need to know. So I'm not answering. Apparently that information is on a need to know basis and you don't need to know. It wouldn't bother me if he called himself a tadpole as long as he keeps doing the great job of running this site. I've never had a problem with it. Now excuse me while I go wipe off my nose. Edited April 17, 2006 by Woodbutcher68
+icefall5 Posted April 17, 2006 Author Posted April 17, 2006 Sorry, I didn't think this was such a touchy question. Just one of those random questions people have every day. So,
