+PastorDIC
I am finally at find # 494. What noteworthy or memorable cache should I do for #500? I live in Battle Ground, WA. Quote Link to comment

+FluteFace
I'm sorry to say that I have little experience with caches in your area. However, if you were interested in trekking further north, I would give a huge thumbs up to Light House Point near Deception pass. Although I didn't do it for my recent #500 because others in my party had, I did do it on the same day and was wowwed by it. A certain amount of effort coupled with a great view made for a wonderful time. There are other caches in the area to make the trip worthwhile. Let me offer you a premature congratulations on #500, no matter what you decide to do. Quote Link to comment

I'm getting to #500 soonish - hopefully in May - and I have The Original Stash Tribute slated for half-way to 1000. A little bit of a road trip, but it's a celebration! Quote Link to comment

Heard good stuff about the others. Also you can look up Pipeline down by Hood River. All make good milestone caches. I've climbed Table before geocaching and it's a long haul about 18 miles RT or so. You can drive from the north for a shorter way, but I'm not familiar with that way. Quote Link to comment
+Stump
GorGEous VIEW http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...35-3eda02f9fe8a I think you've got GORGEous VIEW mixed up with another cache. It's a nice cache but definitely not in the same league as the others. I'll second the mentions of Crack of the Gods and Room with a View. Another good cache is Nightwalker. Blows away all other night caches in the area. Quote Link to comment

Maybe it doesn't compare to Room with a View or Crack of the Gods, but it still is worthy. I remember when I first discovered this spot, I was totally blown away. +klossner
I've climbed Table before geocaching and it's a long haul about 18 miles RT or so.It's shorter if you start at the parking spot for Crack of the Gods. Then it's perhaps 10 miles round trip -- you get all of the vertical with much less horizontal. (But don't go this week unless you take snow boots and an ice axe.) Quote Link to comment

That first stretch on the PCT is really boring and you have to negotiate poison oak so next time I go up there, I'll do the Crack route. Quote Link to comment
+chubby forest monkey
You should do the GP Crater of Insanity of course! And so should the rest of you. [cajoling emoticon] Quote Link to comment

+PastorDIC
Greetings! My dog and I went to look for E-roaded cache today. It is a nice walk but I didn't find it, so I will have to look for something else for #500. It was a great walk anyway. We both enjoyed the trees, the water, the birds, and the .9 mile walk each way. +PastorDIC
I ended up doing a pretty if easy cache called Viewpiont Creativity Cache GCT3CM. It was in an Interesting area. I got to see the sternwheeler Columbia Queen docked down below. It was also interesting to see the burn marks on the trees from the past railroad fires down below. And was that a mini observatory at the top of the hill??? Quote Link to comment
