Had to giggle, aint technology great Those are good.....thanks for posting it. My Uncle had one of those big ol' cell phones; it worked out in the woods where the new ones still won't get a signal today. And I still have that TV! Quote Link to comment
bogleman
Just think how things will be 20 years from now. I just picked up a Treo 650 and I am still amazed at what it can do. DIR/W Quote Link to comment
+Airmapper
I was in Wal-Mart today, looking at the flip-cards for thier GPS's, and none of the ones uder the glass were in there. The cards had Garmin 12, Lowrance Globalmap 100, an old Magellan too. It is a Wal-Mart I watched them build less than a year ago. Crazy, you'd think they could keep up to date, but it was cool to see the somewhat older units. Quote Link to comment
arthurking83
The other day I noticed at a local camping superstore chain outlet (Rays Outdoor), they had a Magellan ColorTrack, and a Map330, NEW!! for sale in the glass cabinet! At about the same, or more than the price of an explorist 500!! Any wonder they were still for sale! Quote Link to comment

Wildman63
I was on a spacecraft (Skylab) recovery on a Navy ship in the mid-70's. NASA temporarily installed two GPS receivers and antennas on the ship. The receiver boxes were each about the size of a small refrigerator (the kind seen in home wet bars). They claimed accuracy on the order of 50 feet. Two receivers were installed for reliability. No telling how much they cost. Quote Link to comment
