+The Bolas Heathens
Anyone know where I can get one of these at a decent price as all I can find is places that will sell you a serial cable for around £26 and then a serial to USB converter for around £13. Seems way too much just for a cable or is this about right? I've checked eBay but could not see anything that was compatible. Manually typing in co-ords is starting to drive me nuts, especially with the big numbers day outs we've been on recently. Thanks in advance. +maporter
Hi, I've since been asked by a few others regarding USB eTrex cables, I should point out that the solution wasn't for one usb eTrex cable, but rather a cheap eTrex serial cable and usb to serial converter from two different eBay sellers (not me). Combined cost of which was less than £20. Cheers Mark :-) Quote Link to comment
+sTeamTraen
I don't think such a cable exists. The eTrex serial cable is, I think, the same ones used for the Geko series. If you don't have a 9-pin serial port on your PC then a USB-to-serial convertor is probably the only way to go... Quote Link to comment

Admittedly it's a USB-RS232 convertor with an etrex connector Quote Link to comment

+Moote
All etrex and Geko models (with the exception of the 101 IIRC) sahre the same cable. Just like to add that also the etrex Vista C does not have the standard etrex connector, it only has a mini USB connector Quote Link to comment
+rutson
Good point Moote, I forgot that one. Quote Link to comment
