+The Canary Dwarfs
Hi guys, Andy and I will be hosting an event cache on December 1st in Canary Wharf. The aim is to get to 99 caches by then, and make that our 100th. Currently on 93 at time of writing, so it's a good incentive! HERE IS THE LINK ! I'm sure we should toast House of Boos 600th as well, and perhaps any other toasts that require more drinking! Hope you guys can make it. Very easy to get to, and I'd be happy to pass on any details if required. Cheers Richard (aka Jumbo Village) Edited October 20, 2005 by The Canary Dwarfs Quote Link to comment
Helen in Mustardland
I'm looking forward to it already! Will there be Adnams Broadside? That's the beer that did for me in the C16th Pub Bash in a Cache... broadside after broadside until I think I was close to sinking! Quote Link to comment
+The Canary Dwarfs
Afraid in Canary Wharf they're all big city Stella drinkers, so there's not much in the way of real ales. Helen, I'm sure we can convert you to the "light side". Who am I kidding? I can't handle more than 3 pints these days! Quote Link to comment
Helen in Mustardland
I'm sure we can convert you to the "light side". I wouldn't count on it! In serious situations like this I usually go the other way and end up drowning in Guinness instead. Quote Link to comment
+kbootb
Looks good to me. I'm on 89, so if I get my act together there is a chance that I could make this my 100th too! Edited to say that when I checked my diary, I'm at a Franz Ferdinand gig that night. Much as I'm looking forward to that I'm gutted not to be at the event. Having missed the last bash in a cache I was looking forward to meeting a few fellow addicts again. Edited October 20, 2005 by kbootb Quote Link to comment
+Learned Gerbil
No decent beer? I may be changing my plans! Without the prospect of decent refreshment I may come on two wheels - what is the Motorcycle parking like round there? As for the DLR - 10 minutes to Bank? I have never got a DLR train that didn't terminate several stops short of Bank due to technical problems. Quote Link to comment
+purple_pineapple
LG, if you manage to find out about bike parking, I wouldn't mind knowing! (conversely, if I get of my wotsit and find out, I'll let you know!) Team pp will be on bike as well, as it makes for a rather late night otherwise (and its a school day the next day ) Ta muchly Dave Quote Link to comment
team tisri
Hopefully I'll be able to come along. I'm on 99 at the moment so it might just end up being my 100th as well, if the weather doesn't improve... Quote Link to comment
+lathama
there are a few ifs and buts, but i MAY be there. You see December 3rd is FA CUP 2nd Round day. (1st round is drawn tomorrow and played November 5th). IF Lincoln City get through round 1 and then get an away draw in round 2 somewhere near London, then i will be there as i always do a weekender for away FA CUP ties BUT if the above doesnt happen then i wont be there Quote Link to comment

+The Canary Dwarfs
What is the Motorcycle parking like round there? Motorcycle parking is very good just by Westferry circus. Here's the streetmap link: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?G...=180262&A=Y&Z=1 It's probably less than a 10 minute walk from there to the pub. Gives you a chance to use your GPS ! +The Canary Dwarfs
For those who are interested in eating, here's a link to the menu. We'll get some nibbles sorted out, but I doubt they'll go very far! Quote Link to comment
Helen in Mustardland
Does anyone know whether a One Day Travelcard will cover the Docklands Light Railway, or whether a different ticket is required? I know it's ok on tubes and buses, but I've only been on the DLR once before and I've forgotten. The tfl.gov and trainline.com websites seem clueless too, or if they know they're not letting me in on the secret! Quote Link to comment
+Tyrolean Maid
The one day travel card is not valid on DLR, you need a separate ticket for that. Quote Link to comment
+The Canary Dwarfs
Are you sure? I am pretty sure it does cover the DLR. I will double-check tonight. There are no specific tickets required for DLR travel, so I can't see why it wouldn't be. Quote Link to comment
+The Canary Dwarfs
A one-day travelcard DOES COVER THE DLR CLICK HERE FOR THE LINK THAT PROVES IT! Cheers Richard Quote Link to comment

+The Canary Dwarfs
Get excited... We are sorting out a first-to-find for the event cache as well ! It's for the first person to arrive at the event AFTER we get there. Not the ones that have been in the pub since 3.00 ! +lathama
well we have drawn Southend away, so IF we beat MK dons in the replay then i will be there! So annoying that we have a replay to play yet! Quote Link to comment

Helen in Mustardland
By magic beer scooter probably! (the way I always seem to make it home however many beers I've had.) Failing that, DLR and train from Stratford I suppose... Quote Link to comment

+The Canary Dwarfs
Well, we are officially on 99, so this will be our cast-iron 100th ! Seems we've had plenty of last(ish)-minute entrants as well, so there could be quite a crowd. Sad to hear you can't make it though Paul. We will have a drink in your honour... Or 10 perhaps! Just to let you know, as you walk through the front doors, take the stairs down in front of you, and we should be at the other end of the room (provided they haven't messed the booking up, which is seeming more and more likely!). See you there! Richard Edited December 1, 2005 by The Canary Dwarfs Quote Link to comment
+The Canary Dwarfs
Right, we have three prizes available tonight: - First to find (after we arrive at 18.00). Please don't cheat. It's only for fun! - First to find, first cache event. If this is your first Geocache event and you're the first to get here, you'll also receive a FTF prize. - Most outrageous drink. The person that orders (and drinks) the most outrageous beverage will get a prize (probably worth less than the drink itself!). See you there! Quote Link to comment
+Learned Gerbil
Ooops! Been so busy at work I had forgotten about the event- Have a good time. Quote Link to comment
