+Beowulf83
My mother-in-law, who lives in the San Juans north of Seattle, found this in her local paper and sent it to me... Sounds like an interesting way to attract new members. If I read her attached note correctly, the coordinates change each week. I haven't checked to see if these coordinates match the address for the church, but I'll do that this evening. Quote Link to comment
+Morgan's Marauders
Sounds cool - but wouldn't that qualify as a traveling cache? Hmmmmmm..... Thanks for posting it. It gave me a giggle. Quote Link to comment
+The Leprechauns
Yet another step down the path towards world domination through subversive religion masquerading as science. The owner probably knows that this can't be listed as a traditional cache, but has instead been waiting for that "new functionality" for locationless caches. I love it when a plan comes together. +Beowulf83
From their website, it looks like they don't have a fixed location, but meet in various buildings in the Anacortes, Sedro-Wooley area. If it is a traveling cache, I'm not going to venture a guess as to the swag. It would probably depend on their concept of worldly possesions and whether or not they use real wine for communion. +Glenn
Sounds cool - but wouldn't that qualify as a traveling cache? Hmmmmmm..... Thanks for posting it. It gave me a giggle. No, it would be an event cache. Quote Link to comment
+sept1c_tank
There is a cache at those coordinates. Quote Link to comment
+Beowulf83
That's actually one of my favorite places in the Pacific Northwest! It would make an excellent location for both a cache or a worship service! Edited August 11, 2005 by Beowulf83 Quote Link to comment
+sept1c_tank
I'm sure it would. Don't you find it just a little curious that the coordinates are exactly the same for the cache and the worship service? Yet another step down the path towards world domination through subversive religion masquerading as science. Maybe the conspiracy theory is virtuous? Edit: Still learning how to spell coordinates! +Beowulf83
Absolutely. I'd like get a list of the other places that meet and see if there is a cache nearby. Quote Link to comment
+Colorado Cacher
Hmmmmm? I have yet to see God in any one place. Quote Link to comment
+OldTimeRadioAddict
As a student at PBU (Philadelphia Biblical University) I'm tickled pink with the idea of this. Very very cool. Sad to say, (and I'll leave this as my last comment on this, as this is not the place for such discussions) but while this is a novel idea, geocaching is a "niche" market, and if your looking to convert folks to Christ, this isn't exactly "reaching the masses". Needless to say, its neat nonetheless. Anyway, to avoid the inevitable religion bashing, I'll defer from other comments. OTRA Edited August 12, 2005 by OldTimeRadioAddict Quote Link to comment
+tabulator32
I suppose they may something cliche' as you approach with GPS in hand, such as "I was once lost, but now I am found." Quote Link to comment
twjolson & Kay
What I found funny was that "GPS is a natural extension of Christ the King" Am I the only one not seeing the natural extension? GPS really isn't a natural anything. Quote Link to comment

GPS really isn't a natural anything. Didnt the wise men follow a Satellite object (star), to an object they didnt know where it would be 100% (Jesus), and in the end trade up? (Gold, Frankensence & Mhyrr in exchange for blessings) Sounds exactly like ancient Geocaching to me =) They even ran into Muggles like Herod. Quote Link to comment
+The Leprechauns
Caspar: "But it is written on the scroll... it is supposed to be here!" Melchior: "Sadly, there are thieves who have visited this holy spot before us." Balthazar: "Dude, what is this 'Jeep' of which you speak?" Quote Link to comment
+Morgan's Marauders
"I was once lost, but now I am found." Now, that's funny! PS... That's one of my favorite songs! Quote Link to comment

Actually it said a "natural Extension of Christ the King Church," and lists various outdoor sites so I assume that they find the Lord all around them not just in a building. . . Quote Link to comment
+Harry Dolphin
Cute gimmick. Fortunaely, it's not a geocache. Certainly would violate guidelines. Could use it for a locationless cache "Not the Benchmark"? Can't see how this would convert anyone. And I'll ignore all religious based caches. Quote Link to comment
