+warthog Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I just had a thought last night (yeah I know, it doesn't happen often, even my wife says so) but, can one use your "copy" travel bug dog tag or create another dog tag from it, in order to resurrect or recreate your travel bug, as all that the other person require to log the travel bug is the 6 digit on the tag and this does appear on the copy tag. I am thinking here more towards assiting the current 2005 travel bug race and how to get the "missing" bugs in action again, but also to reinstate my missing travel bug. From a distance travelled and number of cahces visited but such travel bugs, that the race organiser must decide or should missing/lost travel bugs in races not be allowed to be resurrected? Quote
+Discombob Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Yes, one can indeed do that. however, in the context of a race, I beleive that should maybe not be allowed, or if it is allowed, that there is some form of time or cache penalty for reinstating a travel bug. i guess that would be up to the race organizer. +Africard Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 You may use your copy tag to resurrect a lost TB, but for the purposes of The Race I won't allow this. Best is to hope the TB's resurface again before the end of The Race... Quote
AE_Rodney Posted July 25, 2005 Posted July 25, 2005 Hey, that's a great idea. I bought some plain dog tags a long time ago (when I thought that was fashionable ) and I guess you could even stamp the tracking number into something like that. Quote
