Do You Name Your Unit?

naming my gps was not something that ever crossed my mind; I've named my car and motorcycle but the gps? The Quest is called quest and the etrex Legend is just the other one..... hhhmmmm, maybe it would be easier to just give them names.....

It only gets a name when the accuracy is bouncing around between 126 feet and 12 feet in the middle of a field of rocks! If I repeated the names it gets called when it does this, I would probably get banned from this forum!

"Herman" ...oh wait, you said my GPS unit. No it doesn't have a name. My dsughter wants to call it the monitor and I tend to correct her to call it a receiver. As for the meaning of Herman, you'd have to ask my sisters!

Ive never thought of naming my gps units, although after this thread i kinda want to. my geocaching friend says my explorist 210 is my baby (not sure i like that. i'll have to give it a proper name sometime.

as for all you people who seem to call them something less than postive when they loses signal i tend to strongly disagree. i feel if there is any time to be sucking up that would be the time.

Guppus. How else would you pronounce GPS? :anicute:

How about jeepus...the word JEEP was derived from GP ("General Purpose" vehicle) :yikes:

You know? I never did like GPSr, very hard to say...I think I will name my GPS unit...Jeepus:)

I named mine after my boss. It is always trying to tell me whereI can go and it is constantly changing its position on things.

LOL! That's a good one.

No official name for mine, unless you count "What's wrong with you, you POS?!" as a name.
