team yellow rubicon
I am looking for a pc program that I can download tracks toi and then print them to make a map. I want to be able to draw in tracks in the event i miss some while in the field, and I would like to be able to move the waypoint titles since most programs stack them on top of each other when they are close together. thanks Quote Link to comment
Greymane
Memory-Map Navigator will do all that you are asking. You can get maps from the company or it will allow you to import third party maps, or even scan in paper maps. With elevation data, you can view the maps in 3D or add relief shading (makes maps look 3D). You can import and export data from most handheld GPS units. It also comes with a PDA version of the software, so you can use a PDA with an attached (or Bluetooth) GPS for navigation or just for reference. You can print the maps with your overlay data (tracks, routes, marks and text). You won't be able to move the waypoint titles, but you can hide them. Then you can use the text tool to add wording as needed. You can hand draw tracks, routes or marks. You can even create and import your own icons. The standard version will allow you to print up to 13" X 19". (The Professional verion allows printing at plotter size!) I just love the program and use it all the time. +wickedsprint
USA photomaps shows sattelite maps or topo maps for free with your waypoints and tracks overlayed. Quote Link to comment
Greymane
USAPhotoMaps has very limited import and export ability, but for the price it is a sweet little program. For the very casual user, it is quite a tool. Quote Link to comment
JohnnyVegas
National geographic topo will what you need, these are very high quality USGS topo maps, if it is topo maps you want ng topo is the best. Quote Link to comment
team yellow rubicon
I may have described this wrong. I do not want to download any maps. Nor do I want to put my tracks on any maps. All I want to do is take my tracks and print them to a piece of paper with the ability to label each track, delete any tracks i dont need, and draw in any tracks that I want to add. Neo_Geo
Try GPS TrackMaker and/or OziExplorer. Quote Link to comment
