Z15 Posted November 13, 2004 Posted November 13, 2004 (edited) TOPOZONE Select the 1:100K series, I find it shows them at the 1:200,000 scale but you may have to play around. T&R are in 6 mile sq, so the more area, the smaller scale you need and this harder to read. All USGS quads maps have the T & R on them.......You can usually buy them at sporting good stores, not the chain stores but th local hunting, fishing, hiking places. For some of us self-employed professionals who have to be out on the road, it probably is a tax deduction. (Consult with your accountant.) But any serious benchmark hunter may find the price justified in order to obtain photos and advanced search provisions. Compared with Golf or Amateur Radio, this is a low-cost hobby. You should be able to convince your spouse that throwing a few bucks at it is not unreasonable. It will be well worth your $$ in My Opinion,I use mine everyday. I can make my own maps from them customized. And on and on!!! Quote
Inspector Morse Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 Topo section of this free program http://jdmcox.com/ has Township/Range annotations (you have to look for them). Program lets you switch from topos to superimposed photomosaics. Includes waypoint and GPS routines, and some other good stuff. Very useful. Broadband connection recommended to downloaded maps.
