+WARedBear
Is this the HTML code I need to change the background from green to a tile picture? <body background=" file:http//img.grondspeak.com/cache/XXXXX_XXX.gif"> of course the X's will be the actual file name and I insert this at the top of the main test section. WARedBear remove the "file:" part, and spell Groundspeak correctly, and that should work for you. Of course, you have to upload the image you want to that cache page, and then view it to get the proper URL in order for that to work. For example: <body background="http://img.Groundspeak.com/cache/66389_600.gif"</body> See my latest cache as an example. Other than that, you have to select the "Yes I am supplying the HTML" check box. The HTML tag for the background can then be placed anywhere in the description. Hope this helps. -Junglehair There are 10 kinds of people in this world - those who understand binary and those who don't. Quote Link to comment
+Doc-Dean
How do you upload a photo to Groundspeak for a background? Is it different then uploading a photo which is displayed on the site? I see you have a link called background on your cache page but other people do not... Quote Link to comment
+junglehair
Basically, the background photo just needs to be available somewhere on the Web. Some people do this by uploading it to their personal home page. I found it easier to just upload it to my cache page. Then when you follow the link for the photo, you will find it's URL (Web address). Copy the URL into the HTML tag I listed above, and you should be all set. -Junglehair I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken. Quote Link to comment
+WildGooseChase
Thanks for the tip. I just added a background, didn't know it was that easy. Quote Link to comment
+Criminal
What about a solid color? Like: <body bgcolor=#000000> http://fp1.centurytel.net/Criminal_Page/ Quote Link to comment
+junglehair
The normal HTML code for changing the background colour doesn't work. To get around that, I have created a small square with the colour that I want, and saved it as a jpeg. Then I just posted it to the site as I would for any other background image. See my Warning (I Shall Wear Purple) cache as an example. -Junglehair I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken. Quote Link to comment
+GeoWomyn_SF_CA
Hi I looked at your site and I want to do something similar. Can you tell what you called your purple square or where in the code you added it? I always thought the tag "body background" would be close to the top but now I am thinking otherwise. Thanks so much! Quote Link to comment

You can still use a solid color by doing: <BODY STYLE="background-color: #000000;"> I have some examples of this running on my profile page and the caches I've hidden. Quote Link to comment

Tahosa and Sons
Jungle Hair - Thanks for your information. I've tried some backgrounds before, some worked some didn't. Your instructions gave some light to this concept. So I tried it with several of my caches. And I like the way the ** The Original Frog ** came up on my cache page. Thanks Tahosa - Dweller of Mountain Tops. Quote Link to comment
