+1stimestar
LOL I TRIED! Batteries were too low to get any positions. I did go for a nice drive though. I bought it from a friend of mine, still had the original packaging and manuals etc. for $60. New batteries tomorrow, new cache find tomorrow evening! Quote Link to comment
+The Jester
It's here! My cute little Magellan SporTrak just came by UPS! Oh, well, I guess that'll do ... until you can afford a REAL GPSr. My real question is - why do you have to wait, there are lots of stores open 24 hours that sell batteries?! Good luck and have loads of fun! Quote Link to comment
+1stimestar
Because I live in the interior of Alaska so no, not that many stores lol. It's dark early already. We are loosing almost 7 minutes a day of daylight. I have to get on the ball. I can see myself doing a lot of snowshoeing this winter... Quote Link to comment
+TotemLake
Welcome to the fold, 1stimestar. There is no turning back for you now. Good luck with your cache hunt! Magellan is a great choice! Don't let any detractors fool ya. I have a MeriPlat and have great confidence in its capabilities. Quote Link to comment

Have you ever read John McPhee's book on Alaska('s interior)? I spent 2yrs in SE Alaska and loved it. What the heck is " a doula and a Certified Breastfeeding Educator", sound like something Criminal (a cacher) might be interested in . Enjoy. Here is a handy link to everything you ever needed to know about GPS's: http://gpsinformation.net/ Edited September 23, 2004 by EraSeek Quote Link to comment
+1stimestar
Stangely enough there are a few around here and I love driving so can get to plenty more. A doula is a professional childbirth assistant and a Certified B/F Educator is just that. I teach the breastfeeding education classes at the hospital. I'll look up that book and see what it is. The name doesn't sound familiar though. Thanks for the link. Quote Link to comment
+EraSeek
Its called "Coming into the Country" http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearc...9Gt&cds2Pid=946 Its all about life in the interior of Alaska. By the way, its non-fiction. Pretty much all I read. Edited September 23, 2004 by EraSeek Quote Link to comment

MikBlik
Team SuperGenius, why do you need 4 GPSrs? I've been using one MeriPlat all along; is there something I've been missing? Quote Link to comment

All you have to do is look at her cache count and understand it's more than a matter of need, it's a matter of passion. Quote Link to comment
