TUPPERHUNTER Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 How would you post a small section of a map on the forums using topo? Quote
+Alan2 Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 (edited) With the map displayed on your monitor, hit Print Screen on keyboard. Then open Paint program in Windows accessories where you would then Paste the screen shot. Once opened, you can now crop and annotate the map. Once done, Save file as a .jpg. Then follow the procedures for posting an image in the forums. There could be other ways but you didn't say which Topo program you're using. Some programs like NG Topo allow you to directly create a jpg file. Good luck Alan Edited September 4, 2004 by Alan2 Quote
+CompuCash Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 there are other ways to do it. Many of them require other programs - you method is a good one because it assumes only having windows. Many people do not run their programs in full screen mode so using Alt+PrtScrn will only take the singel window that is selected not the whole screen. You can do your cropping that way too by resizing the window. If you have Paint Shop you can do a screen grab by the area you draw. There are many othere screen grab probrams also. Quote
+Alan2 Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 IRFAN is a good image handling program that's free. Not only can you "grab" screen shots, but you can simply edit your pictures such as decreasing the size for posting on cache pages, etc. Quote
+Kfam Posted September 4, 2004 Posted September 4, 2004 I've used the irfan viewer for years. It really is a good free program! Get it here! Quote
