+Mastifflover Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Just got back from a marathon cache run to Nashville and have 250+ found logs in cachemate that I have to log on the site. Is there a way to print out all of the found logs to make this task easier? Thanks in advance. Quote
+Learned Gerbil Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Export to memo and either print the memos from the Palm Desktop, or cut and paste from Palm Desktop to GC.com Quote
+Mastifflover Posted July 7, 2004 Author Posted July 7, 2004 Thanks alot!! I figured there must be something simple that I was missing. Quote
+Nighthawk700 Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 I just started using CacheMate. One thing I can't find is where to add notes besides the Took, Left, and TB entry. I'd like to jot down notes about the find itself, problems, what I saw, etc. Is there a place to do that, or do I have to put it in with the Took, Left, and TB? Thanks, Louis Quote
+NightPilot Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 The T, L, TB are just a template. You can overwrite that stuff if you want. The log page is just a place for any notes you want, any way you want. Actually, you can enter notes anywhere you like, on any page except perhaps the Past Logs page. I haven't tried editing those, because it makes no sense to me to try. Quote

(hmmmm, none of the Smilies show banging head into a brick wall... you'll just have to visualize it) I just tried editing over the existing text. Didn't realize they were templates. Thanks for the tip. Louis Quote

Actually when I got back from Cacheville & GeoWoodstock2 I used this link Geocaching Express Logger for CacheMate to log all my finds. It's a very quick and convenient way to log your finds. Quote
CurmudgeonlyGal Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 I was going to use Boulter's Logger the other day when I realized that b/c I alter the name of the cache before it's loaded into my GPSr and my Palm (using a smart name) it's, possibly, useless to me. Then I figured I could change back to the waypoint name, but would still want to alter the text to include the D/T and the cache type/container size. Argh. I guess I'll have to give it a go just as a straight waypoint name and see if the Logger makes it worth changing back. -=- michelle Quote
+Learned Gerbil Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 I can't see how the Logger picks up TBs. Quote

Did you try it and it did not work? Just curious. I would not have thought of that till it failed. I guess it was designed before GSAK came out and so nothing in the docs of how the name must be formated. I have just logged 52 of the 103 caches I did last weekend in Portland. Automating them would make it so much easier. But I too used SmartNames so guess am out of luck this time. Only 51 left to go - and 10 benchmarks. Quote
+Mastifflover Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 I use smart names too. I also like to say something personal about the cache if I can remember it. Quote
+boulter Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 The name of the cache doesn't matter. It uses the waypoint number (GCXXXX) to figure out the cache to take action on. Quote
+wornout Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 Guess I will have to quit using the 'drop2' option in GSAK when exporting to the palm. Sure wished this feature was a downloadable program rather than a website. I just know I will get good and hooked on this and then the website will disappear should the owners prioities change, and for some reason or the other, they don't maintaint it anymore. :-( Quote
+boulter Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 I have sites that have been up for 10 years, so don't count on this one going away for a while. :-) Quote
