Can you be more specific. What does "Trying to open" mean? Have you installed the program from the download and you can't run the install program, or are you trying to get it installed the 1st time?

Any specific error messages would be helpful. Also tell us the operating system you are running - Win9x, WinME, Win2k, WinXP?

we are running windows XP

program is installed (ver 3.05)

when we try to run it

it just stalls at the opening screen

Hmm, this is a tough one as there are no error messages to go on.

I have many users (including myself) that run GSAK on XP and have actually found this operating system to be the most compatible.

Try this:

1. Delete the file GSAK.ini in the install folder of GSAK

2. Delete the folder "Data" in the install folder of GSAK

Try again

If that doesn't work, try the "nuke" method

1. Uninstall GSAK

2. Delete the install folder of GSAK and all sub folders

3. ReInsall GSAK and try again.

If you uninstall then reinstall you may want to turn your virus detector is off. If you are running Norton or Avg6 I noticed that then will interfer with some program installs. Just an option, run your download through your virus checker then turn off when doing the install. Just make sure you turn it back on when you are finished.

I find that I have to double click the short cut a couple times - even 3 to make it run - see a flash of the start image then nothing - try again and it works - thought it was just me - maybe we have the same issue -

very good suggestion to kill the virus checker before installing.
