Major Catastrophe Posted May 2, 2004 Posted May 2, 2004 Actually, I hid it a week ago, but went back to the hide today to add a TB and verify the waypoint. Nothing spectacular, but I hope it'll be enjoyable. Watch for "A Rolling Boulder Gathers No Moss." I also had a great time driving back down the hill; found 4 caches on the way. Quote
AC Student Posted May 2, 2004 Posted May 2, 2004 Congrats on your first hide! I can't find it so I'm guessing it isn't approved yet - please post a link when it is available to check out. Quote
+95_Camaro_Couple Posted May 2, 2004 Posted May 2, 2004 Hey, congratulations! I won an ammo can today at an event cache, so hopefully soon I'll be hiding my own first cache as well! I wish you and your new cache lots of luck! Paula Quote
+bons Posted May 2, 2004 Posted May 2, 2004 Clayjar's online rating page suggested a 4 for the terrain, but the hike is so short that I made it a 2.5 and I'm not sure that isn't too high. I really appreciate things like this in a cache listing. You do a great job of telling searchers things they need to know in a very clear and friendly manner. May you have many happy visitors! Great job! Quote
GeoFD Posted May 2, 2004 Posted May 2, 2004 My first cache got blown up 2 weeks after i hid it. Quote
+zoltig Posted May 2, 2004 Posted May 2, 2004 My first cache got blown up 2 weeks after i hid it. OHHH Way to boost the ol' confidence there, GeoFD! Quote
+JeepCachr Posted May 2, 2004 Posted May 2, 2004 Its a very nice write up. A good write up is almost as important as a good hide in my opinion. Quote
Major Catastrophe Posted May 3, 2004 Author Posted May 3, 2004 A good write up is almost as important as a good hide in my opinion. Thanks to all for the support! The writeup might be better than the hide... or maybe not; I was almost glad to have the GPS when I went back to finish the set, because it sure looks different without the snow that was there when I first hid it! +RuffRidr Posted May 3, 2004 Posted May 3, 2004 Congrats! Now is the fun part when you get to read all the cool logs that start popping into your inbox. Unfortunately, it is kind of addicting. When the logs for that cache start to slow down, you end up creating a new cache to start them up again. --RuffRidr Quote
+pedron Posted May 3, 2004 Posted May 3, 2004 i am going to hide one soon. I am excited for it. I just have to finish the tile in our bathroom to free up some after-work time! Quote
+crzycrzy Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 Ahhh... the good ol' first cache... Then there's the first muggling... The first replacement... The second... The archiving... (Just kidding. CONGRATS !!! Welcome to the fun!) Quote
