+KBer
The Sunday, December 14 New York Times magazine section had a few paragraphs about GPS art. They referenced a web site, http://www.gpsdrawing.com. I thought some of you would be interested in this. Edited December 14, 2003 by KBer Quote Link to comment
Dan Vull
Somewhere on my hard drive is a cadd file for a map that spelled someone's name. I was teaching an RTK class and one of the students was a bit more ambitious than the rest and spelled his name along with the typical topo shots. Quote Link to comment
+Team GPSaxophone
There is a Christmas light competition where I live. I used my GPS to map all of the streets in my neighborhood while I was checking out the competition. I marked the best houses on my GPS so I could go back later and make sure they didn't have more lights than me The tracklog looked interesting, in an abstract sort of way, but I wouldn't call it 'art' Quote Link to comment
bug and snake
I was on a converted oil tanker one time. (I was the navigator) We had to take shelter from a serious North Sea storm on the east coast of Scotland. The officer on watch used this HUGE ships history trail on the VDU to write his name. +bartacus
Okay, here's my first experiment with GPS drawing; I tried to create an image of Tux the Penguin, the Linux mascot, while driving around Winston-Salem NC. Unfortunately, the roads didn't always cooperate, so here's my best effort. Total distance: 52.77 miles Total Time: 02h 38m Quote Link to comment
