This one is the oldest, still in existance, cache in IL. Predates Mountain Marsh by almost a year.

Don't think that really qualifies. Most of that time, is was a letterbox. It didn't become a geocache until April of last year.

If you read the history of Geocaching you'll find that the first cache was place on 5/3/2000. Three days after SA was lifted. Therefore anything older is NOT a geocache.

 

It does appear that the Jerry Connelly cache is older than the Mike Teague cache.

 

Mike, if you're reading the forums, what's the story?
