Favorite Destination Cache?

I'm sure there must be folks here who plan their vacations around "destination" caches.

So let's hear it - is there a cache you've always wanted to travel to get to? Is there one you planned a trip around? Was it worth it?

Kinda-sorta.

"Creepy Cache" and "Happy New Years" out in Las Vegas. We hit those and about 6 others while we were there for a long weekend. We had to rent a car but it still kicked-***. I highly reccomend it to anyone. Caching in the barren desert is they kind of extreme caching we've all dreamed about. Over 2 days we climbed a mountain, spelunked an abondonded mine, visited a sacred burial mound, saw a stripped stolen truck out in the desert, saw some people wallowing in Crisco, climbed a Lava Butte and a visited a deserted spot in the desert where they filmed a movie(breakdown). It was an adventure.

I didn't exactly plan my vacation around them, but I was supposed to be in the vicinity of some of Quest Master's caches in Pennsylvania last fall, in particular "Scattered Remains". Normally, this is a dull trip we occasionally take, but I was dying to go this time. Unfortunately, things fell through. I was crushed. We should be making the trip this spring, not sure exactly when.

I doubt I'd ever plan a vacation around a cache, but I have gone on vacation and planned on hitting caches in the area.

Haven't planned a vacation around caching, but did plan to do some caching on a recent vacation.

Only managed to press the etrex and my face against the car window and say 'we've just passed within blank distance of blank cache' as we sped past on the interstate.

Sigh. Maybe next time.....

I would not plan a vacation around a cache, but if I am headed to a vacation spot, I certainly check to see what caches are in the area. I have found some interesting "secret spots" by doing this. One example is the Masonic Overlook cache that we visited when we were camping in the Sierras last summer.

We pretty much planned a vacation to Maui with caching being one of our main objectives! Okay, yes, we intend to take in as many of the local attractions as we can, but we're going to try to hit as many caches as we can too. icon_cool.gif Yup, we're pretty excited about it as we know it will take us to some beautiful places off the beaten path.
