Is This A Good Deal?

I realize there is currently another thread similar to this topic (batteries); however, I am more concerned about the cost analysis of this particular product. Wal-mart has a package by Digital Concepts that includes four Ni-MH 1800 mAh high capacity batteries, a Ni-MH & Ni-Cd AC/DC battery charger, AND a 12 volt power cord (for same charger) for sale at $16.83. Is this a good deal? Thanks in advance.

Much less than Best Buy, but I wonder about the quality.

It's a good price. Quality is suspect. Check it out. Does the charger recondition batteries (discharge first, or on demand before charging?) Good chargers do.

Only if the charger is for both NiCd and NiMH both, as NiMH don't require such discharges.

NiMH isn't as bad as NiCad for the memory effect but it still has one and requires the conditioning on occasion.
