+Stunod
I'm sure you're expecting the pirating lecture that you will be receiving here soon. As far as the other questions, I would recommend a 128MB card. They are pretty cheap now and will hold more than enough map data for you. If you only need the Phoenix area you could get away with a 32MB card. Also, look into TOPO instead of streets for geocaching. "Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand." dboggny
we try not to pirate programs here, nor do we talk about pirating programs here, it tends to get people hassled and in trouble. lets not cause trouble ok? danny SR and dboggny. Quote Link to comment
+GOT GPS?
The best way to burn the CD, is to burn it with all the pirated software in a big fire pit. Quote Link to comment
greatwhite6
I shopped around and got 64mb and Mapsend Topo for $105 total at www.amazon.com. I can't imagine needing any more memory than that. I have most of California and all my fishin spots out in the Channel Islands. Oh, and burnin cd's and passing them along is a little south of legal. Just an FYI Any belief worth having must survive doubt. Quote Link to comment
Geomaniac
I am wondering if the meridian platinum will accept any other type of map - ie a map that has been geocoded or registered with Ozi-Explorer? Quote Link to comment

Tired and Retired
Here's my problem with the Magellan Platnium..the book that came with is of little or no value. It does mention that you can get more details from the CD that comes with the unit. We didn't get that with our purchase. Have contacted the company to no avail, any suggestions? It's hard to learn how to use it by trial and error. We have successfully found a few caches thanks to our son-in-law who is experienced in geocaching. Quote Link to comment
mtnsteve
If you go here, http://www.magellangps.com/en/support/products/meridianplatinum.asp You can download the CD manual as well as the supplemental manual. It will be in PDF format. ____________________________________________________________ Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it. Quote Link to comment

A great help is the FAQ in the Yahoo Meridian group files section. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Magellan_Meridian/files/ You will have to join to get access. If you elect to receive messages by email, be forewarned that it is a very active group with a *lot* of messages daily. But you can also elect to just view them on by webview if/when you want. +TeamTrout
I got it at the Scottsdale store on Shea Blvd and Pima. If you are out of town, they have a directory you can call in their dealer locator at the website. imatrout Quote Link to comment
