cheese
I recently bought Mapsend Streets for my Meridian Gold GPSr but can't get it to work. I installed the software, clicked on a region to download to the GPS, and all I got was a message on the comp. screen that said there was no GPS in the COM1 port. I'm looking down there, though, and it is plugged in. I have my 32MB memory card in my GPS too, just in case you were wondering. Does Mapsend Streets work for the meridian series; i'm almost certain it says so on the website. Any help would be greatly appreciated! +Girls Rule!
Check out the speed of the COM1 in both the mapsend software and GPS. Set the baud rate on the gps to 115,000. Then go to MAPSEND and OPTIONS -> GPS Settings. Try the auottest. I to had a baud rate incompatibility. Have not had any corruption of maps and such. and it is a hell of a lot faster than 4800. +leatherman
I've had mine lose the connection with a com port, even though it worked fine before. I had to switch to the other serial port. Even auto detect didn't find it, 'till I switched ports. If you do not extend your expectations unto others, you will not be disappointed by the stupid things they do. Mokita! Quote Link to comment

valenrandy
I have a map 330 with mapsend streets, and the highest mine has to offer is 19,000 baud on the computer. does that have to do with which version of windows or what? ValenRandy03 Quote Link to comment
+phantom4099
If you have a plam/ pocketPC and active synce on your computer it will take up the com port. Your going to have to disable active sync ability to use the com port. Your still going to have to do this even if you use a USB port. Teat at baud 4800 and work your way up. shrekTBA
I have had similar things happen with other hardware. Go into the control panel on windows and refresh the port, worked for my dig film reader. It's not a sport unless there is something dead in the back of the truck when you get home.
