+Cleo1 Posted March 23 Posted March 23 It would appear that my Message Centre is getting rather cluttered with old useless messages. Is there a way to clean up this area and keep only current messages? Thanks Cleo1 Quote
RuideAlmeida Posted March 23 Posted March 23 If you started the messages, you can delete all the conversation, clicking on the trash bin on the right. If you received the first message, you can only Hide the conversation, selecting that option on the circle with three dots on the right of the username. Quote

Does that include the messages in the other person's message list too? Edited March 24 by Goldenwattle Quote

If I kept all email, I would never find anything. That's why I like the messages. I can see if I have contacted them before, or they have contact me, and how the message went. 17 minutes ago, arisoft said: bin That was a mistake. 1 Quote

Browsing the MC is frustrating. I have saved all messages from year 2016. About 20000 messages per year. 1 Quote

+brekkcaching123 Posted March 26 Posted March 26 You can delete it if you started the conversation. If you received the first message in the conversation, you can click "hide" or "block" and it will hide the conversation. 1 Quote

Or you can search on your computer by file name. Some inbox search functions are pretty good but others are rather spotty (Outlook). 1 Quote

My last GIFF entry, which involved geocachers from 30 countries speaking in 30 different languages, was organized completely through the MC. I sent blind messages to geocachers I'd never met in their language and in English asking if they'd work with me on my film entry, and I had a lot of success. It's also interesting when someone messages you (or vice versa) and you realize you'd messaged about something years before. Per the OP's question, I just leave my messages as is, as I never know when I'll want to go back and find something. Without having to store and search through thousands of emails. 4 Quote
