+barrz Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 When I try to view a map of my pocket queiry, it brings me to the map of my home location. Is anyone else having this issue and how can it be fixed? 1 Quote
+MartyBartfast Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 It's working as expected for me. Quote
AngryBeesy Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 Can you tell us what geocaches show up on the map that you get from your pocket query? Does it contain the geocaches in the query, maybe zoomed in too closely, or does it contain all geocaches in the vicinity of your home location? A screenshot of what you get would be helpful. Quote

Generally speaking, when you're having a problem with the website, it helps the engineers to know which browser and operating system you're using (with version numbers), as well as the steps you took when encountering the problem and a screen shot if possible. +wesser26 Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 i also am having this dumb problem, i want to look at the map with my query caches to see if i need to move it one way or the other!!! all i' get is a map of caches in my home area!! its been doing this since i used it in may i figured it would be fixed by now. the preview the pocket query works shows the caches where they are suppose to be. but preview in geocaching maps does not. +Hynz Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 I can confirm different (new) quirks with the map. I'm sure they are connected to this: Better using that thread for bug reporting. 1 Quote
+wesser26 Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 the links are broken between( preview the pocket query) and ( preview in geocaching maps) BUT here's a work around till it gets fixed!!!! OK I GOT A WORK AROUND ON THIS QUERY THING FROM MY BROTHER HERES WHAT YOU DO = on the geocaching page click on PLAY then click on VIEW BROWSE MAP on the left side of the map towards the top is a place that says search or pocket queries click on POCKET QUERIES all your queries should show up just pick which one you want to look at and CLICK on it and your map of that query will be there showing all of the caches. not of your home coords map. its not the way it should work but you at least can see what you need. hope this helps. 2 Quote
+icarus Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I have started having this issue, too. When I click any of my pocket queries or routes, it instead shows me my home location map, not the query map. I have tried it with both Chrome using Version 131.0.6778.265 and with Firefox using version Version 131.0.6778.265. I first noticed this a month or two ago and thought it was an update or something that would be quickly resolved, but it's still not working. This makes it very hard to plan any trips. I am using the very helpful workaround from wesser26, but would like this fixed. Thank you! Quote
+evilfoot Posted February 25 Posted February 25 I'm having the problem, too. It's ok on the GC phone app but not on the pc (both home older machine and work very up to date machine). I tried the workaround and get no response when clicking on the PQ on the list. Quote
+SnacksMcGee Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I am also having this issue when using Chrome. It worked fine a couple weeks ago and now it only zooms to home location. I can get a list of all the geocaches but not able to see on the map which is the actual helpful part. It seems to be working fine with MS Edge. Not my preferred browser. Any status from HQ on a fix or direction on the browsers this will work with? Quote
+Galileo the cat Posted April 12 Posted April 12 (edited) Same issue- Firefox 129.9.0 browser, Mac OS Sequoia 15.4. Also with Chrome Version 135.0.7049.85 (Official Build) (arm64) browser wesser26's work-around does get me where I need to be Edited April 12 by Galileo the cat Quote
+jy09 Posted April 20 Posted April 20 Bonjour, même problème pour moi mais cela est résolu par la méthode à wesser26 .... Quote
+MadDog71 Posted June 4 Posted June 4 I'm also having an issue seeing different pocket queries in map view when using chrome on my laptop. just shows my home location and does not change regardless of the pocket query link I select to the left. Quote

I stopped using Chrome for geocaching some time ago - it was giving me blank pages and was it impossible to do anything. I switched to Edge and it has worked pretty well, so all my geocaching stuff is now done in Edge. Pocket queries and mapping are working just fine for me in Edge. Just for kicks, I opened geocaching in Chrome, and clicked on the map (Browse map, my preferred) and that opened to a blank page. I couldn't even get to my list of pocket queries to see what happens when I try to map them! Back to Edge.... Quote
+icarus Posted Wednesday at 05:40 AM Posted Wednesday at 05:40 AM I'm still having this issue in Chrome, now updated to Version 138.0.7204.97 (Official Build) (64-bit). Seeing CAVinoGal's comment, I also tried in Edge (Version 138.0.3351.65 (Official build) (64-bit)) with the same incorrect result - seeing my home location mapped no matter which pocket query I try and display. I've also tried Firefox (Version 140.0.2 (64-bit)) with the same result. This used to work just fine and I've been waiting months for a resolution. I use pocket queries a lot. Any idea when it might be fixed?!? Quote
+janrei_ Posted Wednesday at 09:58 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:58 PM I wouldn't hold out much hope for a fix in the near future. Unfortunately, the maps are quite outdated technology-wise. You can use one of the various workarounds: allow all cookies in Privacy settings switch to Leaflet maps (via "Set Map Preferences") open the Browse Map, then select your Pocket Query from there Quote
