+lefisher Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 I decided it was time to have a look at where all my trackables were and have now seen a second one that is shown as being dropped off, no one has retrieved it, and yet it is no longer shown on the page. Surely, even if the trackable has disappeared, it should still show on the web site. I haven't got the heart to see what has happened to two others just yet! Quote
Keystone Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 In the "Recently Spotted" field for this trackable, does it say "Unknown Location" rather than a cache name? If so, then someone used the "Mark Item Missing" option to remove the trackable from the cache inventory. 1 Quote
+lefisher Posted February 26, 2024 Author Posted February 26, 2024 There was one marked as missing so I just accept that and will grab it back into my inventory but another one was dropped in a cache 8/8/22 and a note was posted on 26/8/22 say it wasn't there. They did not actually mark it as missing. On the one I am actually querying, it was dropped into a cache a long time ago. I checked through all the subsequent logs and the CO had to replace the cache as it had disappeared (along with my trackable I assume) but unless it has been marked as missing, I don't see how it is still not shown on the cache on the web page. On another point, I wish that cachers would just post a note saying a trackable is not in a container instead of marking it as missing. It can then be retrieved from the last known cache. I really must stop going through my owned trackables as it is disheartening! Quote
Keystone Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 1. Please provide a link to the trackable you're concerned about. 2. For any trackable that's been marked missing, you can use a "Grab" log to retrieve it from "limbo" and place it in the grabber's possession. 1 Quote
+lefisher Posted February 26, 2024 Author Posted February 26, 2024 https://coord.info/TB6ZFFA You can see the final post says that the trackable isn't there but they don't post a "missing" log so it seems to me it should still be showing there. Quote

+GeoCharmer81 Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 I clicked on the last known cache it was in, then clicked View past Trackables. Searching the list in alphabetical order, your CVT & JACS Team Pathtag is listed as Location Unknown on page 8. I don't know who marks a trackable as Unknown Location. In Keystone's comment above, it seems that someone has marked it Missing. If it was the container that was replaced, perhaps the CO was kind enough to update the locations of the trackables that were in the container that disappeared as Missing. 2 Quote

+trekintime Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 (edited) I picked up a TB but didn't log it for a while. When I went back to log it, I had to grab it and it now shows in my possession. However, it doesn't show in my list of TBs for when I visit other caches. Any ideas what I can do about that? I'd like to log some mileage on it as I've been to a lot of other caches with it since I picked it up. Thx for any help. Edited May 30, 2024 by geoawareUSA9 removed tracking code Quote

[text edited] Important: You should use the Reference Number (which starts with "TB") for public posts, like this: TB80R9W Do you have a lot of Trackables in your Inventory? If so, on a web page log, you may need to click "Show All", to find the one you want. Edited May 30, 2024 by kunarion Quote
+trekintime Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 (edited) Thx for editing that. OK, now I feel like a (removed). I was looking for the 'show all' at the end of the list, not the beginning. You've been so helpful! Thank you. Edited May 30, 2024 by geoawareUSA9 removed barely concealed profanity 1 Quote
geoawareUSA9 Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 @trekintime, As a point of order, not only is it frowned upon to post other people's tracking codes in the forum, it is also not encouraged to post profanity, even when using punctuation in place of an I. I will chalk both of these up to a learning experience, but please do better. 1 Quote
