+georgeandmary
Since you can't search the site for caches along the highway I'd like to compile a list of caches along I-5 so others could find them when they needed it. If you know of a cache right off I-5 please list it here. And I mean right off of I-5. The type of cache you can just pull off the highway and find on a long drive. I'd like to create an I-5 for Oregon and Washington also. george Pedal until your legs cramp up and then pedal some more. Quote Link to comment

+ErSamin
I can't tell you how many times I've driven that #@$%%**%# road. Now that I have started geocaching, and have this information, maybe the road won't be quite so mind-numbing! "Could be worse...could be raining" Quote Link to comment

+longwalker
Before our trip to the northwest last summer I did a search using I-5 as the key word. That came up with several caches along the way. I also have a book titled "Exit Authority" it lists the location and what is located at interstare exits including rest stops. After locating the rest stops I searched for caches using those coordinates. That gave me more caches near our route than we could ever do and get to our destination. Quote Link to comment
+TeamJiffy
...this list takes 5 mile radius points every ten miles along the highway, so it will give you up t o date results at any time. I imagine there are little points it misses, etc., or has points that overlap... so it won't be perfect... ...as time permits, I will create this as a full list for I-5 and I-80 and US101 (this will be over *some time*) Also, because it gives the five mile radius, it means that things 5 miles away - but in the middle of a forest, or up a steep hill, will be included - but here is a list you can prune yourself that starts out being much shorter than guesswork... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=41&lat_mmss=59.72&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=36.60&dist=5 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=41&lat_mmss=51.08&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=34.21&dist=5 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=41&lat_mmss=44.20&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=37.81&dist=5 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=41&lat_mmss=39.54&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=33.77&dist=5 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=41&lat_mmss=30.13&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=27.93&dist=5 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=41&lat_mmss=25.16&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=23.19&dist=5 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=41&lat_mmss=18.70&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=19.11&dist=5 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=41&lat_mmss=13.72&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=16.49&dist=5 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=41&lat_mmss=05.97&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=19.60&dist=5 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=41&lat_mmss=01.10&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=23.96&dist=5 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=40&lat_mmss=54.71&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=23.82&dist=5 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=40&lat_mmss=46.63&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=19.10&dist=5 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=40&lat_mmss=39.04&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=21.39&dist=5 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest_cache.asp?lat_ns=1&lat_h=40&lat_mmss=31.53&long_ew=-1&long_h=122&long_mmss=20.78&dist=5 Quote Link to comment
+fizzymagic
As I posted on the Geocaching.com discussion group, I am working on an app that will allow you to get caches along a route, as long as you can get all the caches in Pocket Queries. Give me a couple of weeks and we may be able to do this automatically. Quote Link to comment
Catfish & Company
Thanks for posting these I-5 caches. I am headed for LA from Sacramento tomorrow for a funeral and I would like to have some fun on the trip. Will be nice to stop and take some "potty" breaks and do a little caching at the same time. My sister is going with me and she is going to learn about this sport whether she likes it or not. Wish me luck! Half of Catfish & Company. Catfish is staying home. Quote Link to comment
