+rragan Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Has this field been removed and a guid is always used? I'm seeing more labs with GUIDs and not short names. I could imagine name collisions might be a reason for auto assigning a name but they're not very user-friendly. I guess the QR code is the answer to that. Quote
+elyob Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 (edited) I just started building my second adventure lab and that Custom Access Code part of the process is no longer there. Edited November 13, 2020 by elyob Quote

It's usually represented as a long string of hexadecimal numbers which, as the name suggests, is globally unique, and is being used in place of the Custom Access Code in forming the adventure's URL. 1 Quote
+ecanderson Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Heck. And here I thought it was Groundspeak Undecipherable I.D. With the HUGE number of new ALs, I suppose they became concerned about how to manage requests for names already in use. I wonder if anyone ever accidentally tried to use an AL moniker that had already been in play, and what happened? I wouldn't think it would be as common a problem for ALs, which often are named based upon location and the specifics of the series. Not like caches "Where the Sidewalk Ends". Quote
