+TheDalesMan Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 Hello fellow geocachers! New to the hobby, based in East Anglia, UK. Love the outdoors, walking so this is a perfect hobby to me. Made a few finds already, I have one question though. I have a Garmin Chirp wireless beacon and am thinking of doing a hide. Under what category would the Chrip come under when setting up the hide? I will use it to broadcast a clue for a traditional cache hidden nearby. Thanks for any help. Nick Quote
+Max and 99 Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 I'm not familiar with chirp since the only chirp cache I've done didn't actually use chirp, they just added the attribute so people could collect it. Are chirp beacons often used in traditionals? The cache is at the coordinates, so I'm wondering why the chirp. Sorry if that's a dumb question, but I'm curious how it's used. Quote

+coachstahly Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 It could be set up as a multi, with the first stage being the chirp that broadcasts the coordinates to the second/final stage. I've seen it as a ? as well but not as a traditional. 1 Quote

+EthisEthat Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 There is one called chose your own adventure near me. You have the option to find GZ by either 1. Night Cache. 2. Chirp. 3. QR codes and 4. UV light. It is listed as a mystery but that might be because you have to solve a puzzle to find WP1. Quote
