+simon442
Hi, I have placed a cache a while ago. Im organising a geocaching night hike for my scout group and they are going to use the intro app to trial geocaching. the Route starts near my house and the cache is placed just over the road. However the cache does not appear on the intro app and i need it to. It has a terrain and difficulty of 2 and it has had lots of successful finds and a few favourites. I need it for this friday. any ideas? Quote Link to comment
Keystone
Several of your caches are micros. If they are two star difficulty or higher, micros won't appear in the intro app. Beyond that, I can't readily see an issue since you own just traditional caches, none are flagged as needing maintenance (yay!) and you say that the one you have in mind has been found regularly. I did not check to see if any of your caches has a "needs archived" log, which would render it ineligible for the intro app. Quote Link to comment
+simon442
hi, the cache is bring something magnetic, it is a small size with no archive logs... Quote Link to comment
+TriciaG
Doesn't the intro app show 3 or 5 of the nearby geocaches, but not necessarily the closest? If you're in a cache-rich area, it's possible that different devices will show different caches - not necessarily yours. I could be wrong, though. Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
Have you updated the Intro-app? Is there an "update" available???? The Intro-app (at least it used to) shows only select caches. It won't necessarily show you the closest cache during that particular loading. I do not know the criteria it uses/used in choosing the caches, but it used to show three caches only, with the operator not being the "chooser" of which caches. I believe that there have been updates, but I do not know if this "feature" was altered. Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
Does/can the intro app show caches YOU own..? Quote Link to comment
+Gitchee-Gummee
Does/can the intro app show caches YOU own..? yes, it will... but as not-found caches, assuming that they remain as not-found. They won't be shown as a star (owned cache). Quote Link to comment
Andronicus
I would get everyone to install a full third party app that has a 30 day trial. That way they can get a more full caching experience, without the silly restriction imposed by GS on the intro app. Asuming they don't have a PM, they will still have the 3 cache download limit, but can see them all on the map, and navigate to them. I can't help you on iOS, but for android, a easy to use app with a trial is NeonGeo. I don't use it much anymore because I like some of the advanced features in CacheSence, but for noobs, it will work well. Quote Link to comment
