+Krystal Tipps
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I searched and couldn't find anything. Simple question: Do virtual caches still have to be a set distance from other traditional/and or virtual ones? Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
They didn't have to but they are no longer allowed except for the grandfathered ones. Quote Link to comment
+Isonzo Karst
Assuming you're thinking to place a new cache, proximity/saturation only applies to physical caches and physical stages of caches. You could place a new Traditional cache near an old Virtual cache, or near the virtual stage of some other cache. http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#cachesaturation You can't place a new Virtual cache at all, not since Nov 2005. http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#grandfatheredtypes Quote Link to comment
Pup Patrol
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I searched and couldn't find anything. Simple question: Do virtual caches still have to be a set distance from other traditional/and or virtual ones? 1.) You've posted this in the "Travel Bug" forum. 2.) Not sure where you've searched, but if you're considering placing a new cache, I think you might want to read the Guidelines: http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx If you are thinking of placing a "virtual" cache, the Guidelines will let you know that they have not been available for publication for quite a long time now. Another resource is the Help Center: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php B. Quote Link to comment

Keystone
You can place a virtual stage of a multicache or mystery/puzzle cache less than 528 feet from someone else's container. It would provide a clue that leads finders to your cache's logbook, in a container that is at least 528 feet from any physical element of other geocaches. Examples of virtual stages include signs, plaques, statues, gravestones, utility equipment labels, and fixed objects that can be counted. Numbers gained from the virtual clue stage are then plugged into a formula for determining the next stage's coordinates. Quote Link to comment
