+Poker70
My brother PokerLuck is coming up from Tennessee next week for 6 days of Geocaching and I've been scouting for some good ones. I came across this- GC4Q5M3. I'm wondering, is this deliberate, that the CO is prompting finders to log poorly punctuated and spelled logs in a humorous way? Or would doing so embarrass the CO? I'm not really good at understanding satire, parody or sarcasm Quote Link to comment
+MartyBartfast
I would say it's not a spoof. Look at the CO's profile, it seems to be a schoolkid. Look at his other hides, lack of punctuation, bad grammar, and poor spelling seems to be the norm. I would just log it like any other cache. Quote Link to comment

+K13
CO profile says he is in Middle School. A very prolific cacher, though. Over 1200 finds & over 100 hides. Maybe he should spend a little more time on spelling and grammar homework, instead of caching. Nah. Quote Link to comment

I believe if people would take a deeper look into the situation, they would find an enthusiastic, energetic young man who is trying to share something joyful with others, with support and assistance from his family and community. +J Grouchy
There's an obscure german word for what I feel when I see that sort of thing... fremdschämen. Sometimes I wish the reviewers would step in and make corrections or, at the very least, post a comment to the CO prior to publication about the spelling and grammatical errors. Quote Link to comment
+rosebud55112
I've jokingly considered placing a "Chalenge of a Cenchury: Mispelled Cash Names" where you have to log 100 caches with a typo in their titles, but had these three thoughts: 1. I don't want to point out other people's errors in public. It's kind of rude--although I am guilty of doing it anyway at times. 2. Sometimes an apparent typo is done intentionally, as a clue or a pun. 3. Challenge caches need to include the word 'Challenge', and mine would include the nonword 'Chalenge' instead. It's on a par with perhaps my favorite word in German, Schadenfreude. There's no easy way to translate either word into English. --Larry Quote Link to comment

This. It's not a spoof. The young man who owns the cache is a good kid and exuberant geocacher. Quote Link to comment
