How do I add pictures to the Forum

I know how to upload pictures to the cache logs but how do I post an image from my computer directly to the forum?

Get some glue, put it on the screen...Oh wait. When typing on the forums look for the smiley face(insert smiley) above the text box. To the right there is a picture of a chain(insert link) and a picture of a picture (Insert image) and that's the one you want.

You can't link directly from your computer. The image needs to be stored somewhere on the internet. If you have an account with one of the commercial image repository sites, that will work - such as Flickr. Or, you can upload to an archived cache page or other corner of Geocaching.com.

The Knowledge Book article says to use the button that has the image of a tree in it. On my monitor it's just a green blob, so for reference, it's the second one to the right of the Smilie.

 

Once you get your image uploaded somewhere, display it by itself in your web browser and copy the http address from the address bar, then go to your forum post and hit that button and paste it in. Make sure that you don't end up with two http:// in there at the beginning. The article suggests that you preview your post, which is excellent advice.
