Funny cache logs

I came across some funny ones recently.

just thought I'd share. These are not mine.

 

 

"Well After being DELETED. I have to relog. I guess someone didn't like my pics. They where nice, you said take a camera. Anyways. I found it. The Final is WAY off."

 

I liked that one. "You said to take a camera" :laughing:

 

This one was from a cache placed in 2001. The cache owner had listed the original contents on the cache page. It's a hiking cache.

 

"We couldn't believe that after nine years, the rubber chicken was still in there! It just shows the honesty of geocachers. Obviously, everyone wanted the chicken but simply didn't have a nice enough trade item to exchange for it. We also didn't have any good trade items, so we left the chicken. We might come back here...just for the chicken."

13:45 hours- Equipment Check

-Nato issue pants, check

-Bear Grylls Multi-tool- check

-Camo Hat- check

-Police Issue gortex boots- check

-GPS to locate target- check

-Special Forces Badge- check

 

Left barracks in the LAV at approx 13:50 hours, completed 3 critical missions before attempting this last one.

Headed to target location at approx 16:50 hours- upon arriving at the mission ground zero - the team took up a tactically advantageous position.

16:51 hours- the approach was made and the target was neutralized. Mission critical data was transferred via ink encryption.

16:52 Target was photographed with "special forces" badge

16:53 target replaced- No further action required.

 

Mission status: Success

This one as well, for a cache that was about 30-40 feet up in a tree:

 

Easily located the cache and made the following calculations in my head:

 

G is the universal gravitational constant

G = 6.6726 x 10-11N-m2/kg2

 

Velocity calculation based on height: v=sqrt{2gd}

 

An uncontrolled decent would equal a velocity of 14.0047491945 meters per second over a period of 1.42808698123 seconds

 

This would be equal to a force of 73,500 Newtons where Kinetic Energy is K.E= 1/2 (m*V^2)

and Force is F= K.E/D

 

Since it takes on 35.5858 newtons to break (says collar bone) I used a risk analysis formula to determine if I should retrieve this cache. That was based on:

 

RISK is the

PROBABILITY that a

THREAT will exploit a

VULNERABILITY to cause harm to an

ASSET

 

R = f(T, V, A)

 

In this case, given I was wearing dress shoes and pants, the launch was aborted. Nice one though.

  I didn't know you could turn SA on and off from your receiver. I thought that was something that was done at a ground station.

  "Archived due to overwhelming awesomeness."
  I wish all geocaches had this problem.
   
  
• Apparently fake reviewer publishing a geocache:
  "Published by a fake reviewer."

I love haiku. This has inspired me to be a bit more creative with my logs. I always write more than TFTC but less than a Stephen King novel. I try to be descriptive or add in something from the outing/trip. I'm going to try writing haiku for my logs, let's see how this goes - and of anyone notices, lol.
